seasonal lenses
This urban project, based in Milan, Italy, challenged us to design a park that lacked harmony between design and nature. With the approach of “Seasonal Lenses,” we aimed to increase biodiversity and provide an experience where different users and inhabitants of the park can find joy in different seasons.
Manifesto
Ecological Regeneration Through Plant Selection. The assembly between the human and non-human composes new ways of inhabiting territories in mutual relation. All species can be recipients of the design. We understand this interaction of actors as great ecological benefit.
Site Plan
Throughout the year, the park evolves with the changing seasons, each bringing a distinct transformation. In winter, the bare trees and quiet pathways create a minimalist, tranquil landscape, highlighting the architecture of the space. Spring breathes life into the park as flowers bloom, trees regain their leaves, and the environment becomes vibrant and dynamic.
Summer sees the park at its fullest, with lush greenery, busy paths, and spaces filled with activity, as the park’s design comes to life. Finally, autumn brings a warm, reflective mood, with falling leaves covering the ground and casting long shadows, revealing the park’s structure in a serene, contemplative light. Each season offers a unique interaction between nature and design, creating an ever-changing experience
